Application for Yahoo! BB ADSL

(without NTT phone line service)

Required Info

  1. Contact phone number (e.g., mobile phone) Email addresses--regular and/or mobile (providing both is recommended)
  2. Which internet service you want (e.g., 50M; 26M; etc.)
  3. Days and times you can be available to meet installers. The times must be:
    • Monday-Friday except holidays
    • Either 9:00 AM-12:00 Noon or 1:00-5:00 PM

Desired Yahoo! BB Service

Yahoo! BB offers a variety of speeds. Which speed you should choose depends on not only your own preference (e.g., high speed or economy) but also your distance from the exchange office. If you requested an Availability Report, your distance is noted in there (unless we were unable to determine it, as sometimes happens). If you didn't get a report, then just choose the speed you want and, if we determine that it's inappropriate for your location, we'll let you know.

ID Documentation

After filing the application, applicants who are not Japanese citizens must provide a copy of an Alien Registration Certificate (ARC or 'gaijin card'). No other documentation is accepted.(Detailed info at the links below.)

*If You Don't Have an ARC ('gaijin card') . . .

  • And you cannot get one because you are in Japan with:
    • Diplomatic Status or
    • SOFA Status (military or civilian)
  • Or, if you have a visa and have applied for an ARC but you don't want to wait 3 or 4 weeks for the ARC and then another 3 to 6 weeks for the connection . . .

Then, in those cases, you should consider applying instead for Yahoo! BB and NTT phone service as it is not necessary to have an ARC to be issued--various documents may be used instead. Also, the processing is faster--generally just one or two weeks.

If you have prepared with the above info, then you are ready to. . .
