Flet's Hikari with OCN Application

Instructions for the application for Flet's Hikari with OCN service.

Needed Info

Before going to the form, you should be ready to provide the following:

  1. Address including the building name (even if the post office delivers mail without it).
  2. Contact phone number (e.g., mobile phone)
  3. Work number (required instead of a cash deposit). It should be a regular NTT landline number (i.e,. not an 050, 070, 080 or 090 number). If you don't have a job, enter another landline number in the application form with a note of explanation.
  4. Email addresses--regular and/or mobile (providing both is recommended)

ID Documents

After completing the application form, you will need to prepare copies of identification documentation to be provided to NTT. A week or so after BBapply files your application with NTT, you will receive a "counseling" call from NTT (in English) to verify the details of your application. They will give you a fax number at that time. (Faxing can be done from most any convenience store.)

You should prepare the documents as soon as possible so you have them ready to fax when NTT calls.

Owner's Permission

If your building already has "Hikari Mansion" (a type of system that provides internet to all the apartments in the building) installed, there is no need to get permission for connection.

If, on the other hand, you are applying for "Hikari Family" (a type of connection where wires are brought from the street to one apartment), then before installation can be arranged, you must obtain permission of the owner.

There is a link below to a Japanese letter that you can print and present to your building manger or owner. It explains in Japanese what you want, that some small holes may be necessary, and there is no charge to them. Once you have approval, you just need to let us know by email.
