Application for Service

Needed Info

Before starting the application, you should be ready to provide the following:

  1. Contact phone number (e.g., mobile phone)
  2. Work number (required instead of a cash deposit). If you don't have a job, enter another landline number in the application form with an explanation.
  3. Email addresses--regular and/or mobile (providing both is recommended)
  4. Days and times you can be available to meet NTT installers (in case it's necessary–25% chance). The times you request must be:
    • Monday-Friday except holidays
    • Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
    • Minimum two-hour period (longer may be required in some areas)
      Note: These are the only times NTT will come out. If you order Yahoo! BB without NTT, the only difference is that meeting the installers is required in 100% of connections, not just 25% as is the case here. This is also the same no matter where you request service. Because NTT is restrictive, most employers understand and will to allow time off to meet the installers, should it be necessary.

Desired Yahoo! BB Service

Yahoo! BB offers a variety of speeds. Which speed you should choose depends on not only your own preference (e.g., high speed or economy) but also your distance from the exchange office. If you requested an Availability Report, your distance is noted in there (unless we were unable to determine it, as sometimes happens). If you didn't get a report, then just choose the speed you want and, if we determine that it's inappropriate for your location, we'll let you know.

ID Documents

After filing the application, you must provide Identification documentation. Except for applicants with diplomatic or SOFA status, the ID must (in most cases) the same address as the requested connection and a minimum of three months remaining on the visa.
