Sending ID Documentation
Yahoo! BB ADSL
Applications for Yahoo! BB without NTT Phone Service must include a copy of both sides of your Alien Registration Card (even if the back side has no entries) enlarged 140%. This page explains how to make copies and send them.

Copying
To ensure clean usable copies, please follow these instructions carefully.
1. Where and how to copy:
Most convenience stores have copy machines and the staff will usually be willing to help you. If you don't speak any Japanese, write 140% on a piece of paper and hand it to a clerk with your ID while pointing at the copy machine.
- When they put the ID in the machine, say "usu-ku" to indicate you want it lightened.
- If the copy is too dark, say "motto usu-ku" to indicate it should be even lighter.
- Be sure the ID is not placed right at the edge of the glass as that may cause the edge to be cut off. It should be about 5 mm (1/4 inch) from the edge of the glass to make a good copy.
2. Enlarge
The documents should be enlarged 140%. Do not make color copies.
3. Lighten
When copying, the image should be lightened so the background designs on the ID are still visible but do not obscure the readability of any character on the card.
4. Check
Before leaving the store, look at the copies carefully:
- Make sure that the edges of the documents are not cut off.
- Make sure that all the letters and Japanese characters may be clearly seen.
- If you printed on both sides of one sheet, check to make sure that the copies are not over-printing each other (we need cut them apart and paste both on one sheet of paper).
Note: If some characters are not readable, you may have to resubmit new copies.
Mailing
Sending by postal mail is very reliable. We will usually have the copies within a couple days. If you send it by express mail, we will have it the next day. To send by express mail, ask for "soku-tatsu" (速達) at the post office. Mail copies of the documents to:
Zazm, Ltd.
11-7-5F Kinmitsu
Ashiya-shi 659-0065
No cover letter or note is needed. Just put the copies in an envelope and send.
Faxing
This type application must be accompanied by ID documentation on which every letter and Japanese character can be read clearly. Experience has shown that faxed ID will rarely meet this requirement. To obtain a clear copy by fax--which is not always possible--repeated faxing is needed. This usually ends up taking longer and being more expensive than sending by postal mail. For that reason, faxed ID's are not accepted for this type application. Sending the ID by express post (soku-tatsu) is the fastest way to get connected.
Fine print, important notices, disclaimers, etc.
