Type of NTT phone service to be installed

The Regular Basic Rate for NTT landline phone service varies from ¥1,523 to ¥1,785 per month depending on the population of the local calling area.

* Phone lines may be purchased (Regular) or rented (Lite). Choose the type of line you want:
Regular ("Buy"). You pay the current 'street' price to purchase an NTT Telephone Subscription Right and then the regular monthly rate.
Lite ("Rental"). You pay the regular monthly rate (above) plus a 'rental' surcharge of ¥263 extra/month.

Note: If you choose Regular ("Buy"), the purchase price varies, but was ¥9,000, including sales tax, as of March 20, 2008. You will be advised of the current price and will, of course, have an opportunity to decline or change to "Lite" if the current price is not acceptable.

Restricted (R-rated) Programming

BBTV includes programming that is restricted (R-rated) due to language, violence or adult-oriented scenes or situations. This includes mainstream programming from major studios. You may choose to have such programs blocked.

If you choose to have R-rated programs blocked here, you will not be able to view them at all. If you do not choose to blocking here, you will still be able to password restrict R-rated programs with your BBTV set-top box.

Monthly Yahoo! BB Optional Services

The following optional Yahoo! BB services are available for the monthly fees indicated. Click desired services.

Monthly statements by postal mail. ¥315. Recommended if you will want to check the monthly charges. Otherwise, you must access the online Japanese page. (Not available to applicants for Yahoo! BB who do not have NTT phone service.)

BBPhone Option Pack. ¥525. Includes the following services:

  1. Keitai-30 Discount Service. Get 30% discount on calls made to cell phones. Saves you money if calls to mobiles average more than about 2 minutes per day.
  2. Yahoo! BB Number Display (Caller ID). Display equipment not included.
  3. Yahoo! BB Call Forwarding. Have incoming BBPhone calls transferred to your mobile or other number when you're not home.

  • That Yahoo! BB may not be available in my area.
  • That the named speed is the maximum possible but DSL speed diminishes with distance from telephone exchange and the actual speed will be lower.
  • That environmental conditions beyond the control of Yahoo! BB may disrupt or prevent connection.
  • That on-site set-up is not provided.
  • That English technical support is not promised and may not be available.
  • That, if I qualify for campaign benefits, the first month of the free period is the balance of the month of connection (only).
  • That the start of the campaign (or billing) period is the 7th day following connection at exchange building. (This means that the last week of a month will not be considered the first month of connection for campaign purposes.)

In the process of the proxy application, BBT may receive information regarding NTT services for which I have contracted. BBT will use such information only to effect the connection.
  • SOFTBANK BB Corp. (SBB) will use the information I have provided in accordance with SBB's purposes in providing the requested services.
  • If I have requested BBTV services, BB Cable Corporation (BBCA) will receive certain information I have provided for the purpose of effecting and maintaining the BBTV connection.
  • BB Modem Rental Inc. (BBMR) will receive certain information I have provided for the purpose of modem rental.
  • BBT will provide my email address to Market Face Co. Ltd., for marketing purposes. (You may of course filter their messages, which will all be in Japanese.)

I agree to accept the terms for telephone service as set by Japanese government regulation.

I further understand that:

  • The basic connection fee for NTT land line service, payable at the first billing, is ¥2,940 (¥2100 for the connection plus ¥840 contract fee, tax included) but if additional work is required due to the circumstances at your location, the actual charge may be as high as ¥11,000.
  • The monthly basic fee for residential service varies between ¥1,523 & ¥1,838, depending on the population of the local calling area.
  • If "Lite" service is requested in lieu of purchasing an NTT Telephone Subscription Right, then there will be an additional ¥263 per month surcharge.
  • Any and all other NTT optional services will be billed in accordance with government regulation.
  • An NTT Subscription Right (sometimes called "buying a phone line," if requested in this application, will be provided by a third-party broker and that instructions on how to make payment will be sent by email. The application may be cancelled or changed to a "Lite" (sometimes called 'rental') line at any time before the application is processed. Once the application is processed and filed with NTT, however, refund or cancellation of the Subscription Right purchase is not possible.
  • As established per government regulation, all NTT land line telephone service connections have an assigned "MyLine" carrier to provide competition for phone service and lower calling rates. The MyLine carrier assigned to the service requested herein will be KDDI so some calls placed on the phone line may, as a result, be billed by KDDI.
  • That the NTT line application and connection is seperate from the internet connection and, if connected, NTT fees will acrue regardless of whether Yahoo! BB is connected or functional.
